In my studio, the art creates itself – I simply guide the work and the processes along. The colors and media find their own paths, while I provide the direction. It is out of my hands and in my hands at the very same time. At some point in the process—a constant balance between serendipity and control—the painting finds its character. To me, it is a small, inexplicable miracle every time.

My works are much like us human beings; they consist of countless layers. Some layers are transparent and easy to see through, while others are more solid and opaque. These different layers shape a person’s personality, just as they define the character of a painting.

My art is like you and me – multilayered and always in process. I am inspired by what is, right here in the moment. Some call me bold, free-spirited, and colorful. My art is exactly the same…
