An elegant and calm – but also powerful – painting from my collection of artwork called \u201cSoft\u201d.<\/p>\n
Painted with acrylics and other mixed media on canvas.<\/p>\n
The painting is dominated by blue, brown and golden hues, that – when mixed in the proces – alts\u00e5 ad som green to the painting. The colours and layers speak together very beautifully and create an almost wave-like shape on the canvas.<\/p>\n
The overall simple and elegant expression of the painting is quite unique, and the many details and layers interact beautifully in all their simplicity.<\/p>\n
Both my painting process and the finished expression of this piece represent my desire for more calm and softness in my everyday life, in my art, and in my life in general. I hope you can sense this as you explore the transparent surfaces and layers that give this painting its character.<\/p>\n
The transparent layers in this painting have allowed for a calmer process than what I am used to. This is especially because the movement of the mediums across the canvas, and the drying time required to achieve the desired expression, demand a great deal of patience. It has required me to remain more still and passive in the process than I typically am with many of my other works.<\/p>\n
The piece has been fixed with an invisible matte spray, which protects it against sunlight and dust.<\/p>\n
